| March 26-28 & April 23-25, 2010 Local #460 and the FTI of DC 91 joined together to sponsor two lead worker courses to train DC 91 trainers in the Lead Worker course so that they may attend the Lead Train-the Trainer course at the IUPAT FTI at Hanover. The First class was held at Merrillville on March 26,27,and 28th. The second class was held at Evansville on April 23,24, and the 25th. We also opened seats to members who had an immediate need for the classes to fill the class.
April 10, 2010 South Bend Local 1118 apprenticeship class performed a class project painting the exterior of a handicapped members house. It was used as a training day but giving back to the community at the same time.
February 25, 2010 - Local 456
The Nashville Building Trades received the "Building Trades Best in Show" award for its craft presentations at the Career Exploration Day. Pictured is Building Trades President Anthony Nicholson and 456 Bus Rep Donnie Beechum accepting the Award presented by Metro School Board.
November 6, 2009 - Local 456
The IUPAT Finishing Trades Institutes provided Local 456 with materials to set up a booth at Career Exploration Day at the National Convention Center hosted by the Metro School Board. Over 4,000 students were in attendance. Manning the IUPAT booth was Corky Elis, Apprenticeship Instructor for Local 456 and Bus Rep Donnie Beechum.
